February 26, 2018: Harpswell students Ly Sokanha and Tan Bunhourng were honored to meet with Cambodia’s Senior Minister of Transportation, Sun Chanthol. Recently awarded second place at the Cambodia Business Model Competition, Sokanha and Bunhourng discussed their ‘EcoPlastic’ project with the Minister.

Their meeting was featured in the Angkor Post, which reports that “Senior Minister Sun Chanthol welcomed a team of Eco Plastic students from the Harpswell Foundation. Miss Ly Sokanha is studying at Zaman University and Miss Tan Bunhourng is studying at AUPP. This team of young, innovative students has just won an award in the Business Model Competition organized by National University of Management and CIESF. Their innovative ideas, will benefit the environment through the transformation of plastic waste into Asphalt Concrete for building a high quality and long-lasting road.”
